My daughter actually created the card (cutting out all those orange letters), the box, and a bracelet.
My son and husband even made their cards. My mom found the perfect one in a store though, a New Yorker card of a bookstore I could spend hours in.
My husband's card contained tickets to an upcoming David Wilcox concert. We started listening to his music back when we first met. Here's a reminiscent sample of his amazing singing/guitar playing, storytelling ability. Can't wait.
I gave myself the gift of a day at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I go to museums often with the kids. They can be interested and patient at a museum for a while, but it's not too long before they get hungry or tired. By myself, I can explore. I can take my time. I can draw.
Here are my sketches of a curious cat inspired by a pastel and chalk drawing by Theophile-Alexandre Steinlen and a watercolor of flamingos by Theo van Hoytema.
And, of course, I visited my hero Henry Knox. He wished me a happy birthday and thought I looked fabulous.

Happy birthday!
And what wonderful draftsmanship! Katy and I wanted to do a journaling walk some time soon: bring your journal.
(Love the cards too, of course)
That walk sounds like a great idea once it's a little warmer. It was a wonderful way to spend the day. Thanks.
olive thinks you are an amazing artist. i do too. but she's raving over here looking at your drawings. i love the cards. how adorable and endearing are your kids and husband? and how much am i inspired by you bringing yourself to a museum? so much. i'm do glad you had a happy day. love. love.. and thanks again for your comments to me lately.
Thank you. I think that I'm a very primitive artist. But I like that I'm willing to keep trying.
